I'll give you a brutally honest CnC, or you'll never improve.
It honestly looks like font on a gradient map really, there's no focal, nor any blending, depth or even brushwork. I'll hazard a guess that you added those stripes with a low transparency red-sorts brush? Or was that a gradient map too? And it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to big to be considered even as a tag. Did you do this with Photoshop or GIMP? And the text looks pretty neat

I know you probably didn't understand anything I just said, as you are a beginner, but don't lose hope because of my harsh words. We've all been there at some point.
A focal is the object of it. Like take this sig as an example.

A focal is usually a render ( Google Planet Render for renders )
A render is a focal that has no background : Just the character. So naturally, you can't open it in paint, while in GIMP and Photoshop it has a strange floor like pattern to show empty space.
The focal is Shadow : The Sonic Character.
Depth is blurring and sharpening around your focal to give use some focus.
Flow is brushwork that brings your eye to the focal and adds a distinct look, in this case I made frozen whiplashes and as such.
Concept is to add meaning. He's not just posing for a picture you know! (Though I didn't implement this in mine)
Use C4Ds(Google that too Mate) A C4D is a little pre-made picture to put in the Background or to add to the sig like in this

One of those blasts is a C4D.
I hope this helped bro.
